THE HISTORY

The INCOMaR was initially created by the like-minded academicians from the Faculty of Business Management, University Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as well as our industry partners to give a platform for discussions and knowledge sharing in business, retail and marketing. The history of the conference begins as follows:

• The 1st INCOMaR in 2007 was organised with the National Productivity Centre (now Malaysian Productivity Corporation) as a partner. 
• The 2nd INCOMaR in 2009 was co-organized with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in Malacca, and the State of Malacca was the main sponsor.
• The 3rd INCOMaR was successfully held at Pullman Hotel, Putrajaya in 2011,
• The 4th INCOMaR took place at Holiday Inn Glenmarie, Shah Alam.
• The 5th INCOMaR was held in Penang in 2015 and had attracted almost 100 participants from all over Malaysia and participants from several foreign countries.
• The 6th INCOMaR in 2017, was indeed the first conference that was held at the international venue. The meeting was jointly organised with Phuket Rajabhat University, Phuket, Thailand.
• The 7th INCOMaR in 2019, the second conference that was held at the international venue Novotel, 6th of October, Cairo, Egypt. The meeting was jointly organised with Faculty Business and Management (UiTM), Faculty Hotel and Tourism Management (UiTM), Masjid Jamek, Kuala Lumpur and Yayasan Sabah.
• The 8th INCOMaR in 2021, was held online and co-organized with Faculty Business and Management (UiTM), Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite, Imam Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia and Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka
